Law Enforcement
The Bureau of Law Enforcement promotes and enforces the safe and responsible operation of environments where alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and nicotine products are sold by providing resources and guidance to licensees and permitees, conducting routine inspections, and investigating alleged license or permit violations and related criminal activity.
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Bureau of Law Enforcement, strictly prohibits biased policing in all field contacts, enforcement efforts, vehicle stops, asset seizure, and forfeiture efforts. Biased policing is the inappropriate consideration of specified characteristics while enforcing the law or providing police services. Specified characteristics include, but are not limited to, race, ethnic background, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, age, disability, political status, or any other legally protected characteristics. Age is one of the elements of criminal charges in the enforcement of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Laws and the use of a person’s outward youthful appearance is not considered biased policing in that regard. Any citizen that believes he or she is a victim of biased policing should file a complaint with the Inspector General.
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco is committed to assisting and supporting law enforcement partners across the state in ending human trafficking in Florida, particularly where indicators of the crime appear within premises subject to the Division’s jurisdiction. If you or someone you know may be a victim of human trafficking, please act today and contact one of the resources identified by our partners at the Florida Department of Children and Families, available here, to report the crime.
As of July 1, 2021, the Convenience Business Security Act Program has been moved to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Please contact DBPR at cstore@myfloridalicense.com with any inquiries.
If you are a Florida law enforcement officer certified by the Office of the Attorney General and conduct inspections as part of this program, you may continue to conduct inspections as part of your local law enforcement agency’s crime prevention program, but not on behalf of DBPR.
DBPR has modified the program and will be using its internal assets to conduct inspections statewide. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact DBPR at the aforementioned email address.
Government entities, law enforcement, and state agencies can submit official correspondence through the email link below. Documents may only be submitted electronically and must be in a PDF format. Only official government and state correspondence can be submitted. All other complaints and requests must be sent via DBPR Online Services.
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco’s Bureau of Law Enforcement is an accredited state law enforcement agency through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. The agency was initially accredited in 2006 and has been effectively re-accredited subsequently in 2009, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2021.
