License Fee Detail

Per Florida Statutes, the division operates on a staggered license renewal schedule. This means that licenses in different areas of the state expire and renew at different times throughout the year. The expiration date does not change, regardless of when an application is submitted. Before applying, please review the date your area.

License fees are based the below items which are referenced in Florida Statute 509.251, and 509.302:

  • License classification and size (number of seats or units)
  • County where the business is located. The division divides the state into 7 licensing districts according to county.
    • District 1 – Annual Renewal Date 10/1
      • Counties: Dade, Monroe
    • District 2 – Annual Renewal Date 12/1
      • Counties: Broward, Martin, Palm Beach
    • District 3 – Annual Renewal Date 2/1
      • Counties: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sumter
    • District 4 – Annual Renewal Date 4/1,
      • Counties: Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Orange, Osceola, St. Lucie, Seminole, Volusia
    • District 5 – Annual Renewal Date 6/1
      • Counties: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwanee, Union
    • District 6 – Annual Renewal Date 6/1
      • Counties: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington
    • District 7 – Annual Renewal Date 12/1
      • Counties: Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, Sarasota
  • When the application is made:
    • Full-year fee: Each license applicant must pay the full license fee if application is made during the renewal period (about 2 months before expiration) or more than 6 months prior to the next renewal period.
    • 1/2-year fee: If application is made 6 months or less prior to the next renewal period, the applicant may pay the half-year fee. The $10 HEP fee is not prorated.
  • Hospitality Education Program (HEP):  $10
    • This $10 fee is added into the license fees below and used by division solely to fund the Hospitality Education Program

Application Fee : $50

The application fee is paid in addition to license fees when making an application for a new or change of ownership license.

Plan Review Fee : $0

Plan Reviews are provided at no charge.
