The Division of Real Estate has received many questions in regards to renewal for appraisers that failed to renew timely and require reactivation education. In an attempt to assist with the confusion, we are breaking down what an appraiser will need at the different levels of reactivation education. If your license status shows Involuntary Inactive please click on the below links to assist you on how much education will be required to bring your license current again. Certified Residential Appraiser
- Certified Residential Appraiser – Change of Status – Become Active (FREAB 16)
- Certified Residential Appraiser – Change of Status to Inactive (FREAB 16)
- Certified Residential Appraiser – Change Name and/or Address (FREAB 15)
- Certified Residential Appraiser – Register or Remove additional Business/Firm locations (FREAB 17)
- Certified Residential Appraiser – Supervisor Designation/Termination Form (FREAB 14)

Residential Appraisal Instructor
The Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board (FREAB) has amended Florida Administrative Code 61J1-4.008which deals with instructor continuing education. The rule became effective 1/3/2018.
The seminar is no longer required to renew an instructor’s license.
The renewal requirements for appraisal instructors:
- 3 hours Florida Laws and Rules
- 4 hours of Instructional Techniques
- 7 hours of real estate appraisal subject matters
- Minimum of 7 hours of board approved instruction consisting on an update of USPAP
