Division of Drugs, Devices and Cosmetics – Council Information

The Drug Wholesale Distributor Advisory Council, created pursuant to Section 499.01211, F.S., is comprised of 12 members who represent various aspects of the industry.

The Council’s role is to review Part I of Chapter 499, F.S., and the rules adopted thereunder, provide input to the department regarding all proposed rules to administer said part, make recommendations to the Department to improve the protection of the prescription drugs and public health, make recommendations to improve coordination with other states’ regulatory agencies and the federal government concerning the wholesale distribution of drugs, and make recommendations to minimize the impact of regulation of the wholesale distribution industry while ensuring protection of the public health.
