Architecture and Interior Design – Business Information

The Board of Architecture and Interior Design licenses individuals as Architects pursuant to Chapter 481 Part I, Florida Statutes. In order for a business such as a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company to perform architecture services in Florida it must have a Florida Architect qualifying the business. The name of the business will appear on the Architect’s license.

To verify that an Architect is licensed or that a business is properly qualified, you will need to know the name or license number of the Architect, or the name of the business entity.

When searching by the business name you should click on “View Related License Information” at the bottom of the business information screen to see the qualifier’s license information.

To search by license number:

• Visit www.MyFloridaLicense.com
• Click on “Verify a License”
• Select “Search by License Number” and click “Search”
• Enter the license number and click “Search”
• A list of licenses that match or are similar to the number you entered will be displayed.  Click on each record to view the name of the licensee as well as the business name associated with that individual license.

To search using the architect’s individual name:

• Visit www.MyFloridaLicense.com
• Click on “Verify a License”
• Select “Search by Name” and click “Search”
• Enter the architect’s first and last names and click “Search”
• A list of licenses that match the individual name that you entered will be displayed.  Click on each record to view the business name associated with that individual license.

To search using the name of the business:

• Visit www.MyFloridaLicense.com
• Click on “Verify a License”
• Select “Search by Name” and click “Search”
• Enter the name of the business in the line labeled “Organization/Establishment Name” and click “Search”
• A list of licenses that match the business name you entered will be displayed.  This list will include the individual architects that qualify the business entity you are verifying.  You should then repeat these steps to perform a license verification check using the architect’s individual name to ensure that the architect properly qualifies the business entity.  Click on each record to view the name of the licensee as well as the business name associated with that individual license.
