Florida DBPR Announces 63 Quota Beverage Licenses Available in 2026 Entry Period
~ Entries Accepted Through September 30 for Licenses Available Across 30 Florida Counties ~
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s (DBPR) Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco announced that entries are now being accepted for Florida’s 2026 Quota Beverage License Drawing Entry Period. This year, 63 licenses are available across 30 counties, providing potential licensees with an opportunity to be awarded a quota license to sell beer, wine, and spirits.
The annual drawing is used to award the right to apply for newly available quota beverage licenses. The number of licenses available in each county is determined by population growth, creating an accessible pathway for businesses to become licensed to serve a full range of alcoholic beverages. Entries for the 2026 drawing will be accepted until 5 p.m. EDT on September 30, 2026, through DBPR’s online portal.
Licenses are available in the following 30 counties: Alachua, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Dade, Duval, Flagler, Franklin, Hillsborough, Jackson, Lake, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Marion, Okaloosa, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Polk, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter, Suwannee, Volusia, and Walton.
Once the entry period closes, DBPR’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco will announce the drawing date and conduct the drawing to determine which entrants receive the opportunity to apply for an available license in the county for which they entered. Selection in the drawing provides the entrant with the right to apply for the license and does not, by itself, constitute issuance of the license.
Through the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco’s programming, including the quota beverage license drawing, the Department distributes more than $60 million to various programs each year, ensuring that critical funding reaches a broad range of public health and community initiatives throughout Florida. Specifically, fees collected from entities that receive a new quota beverage license are allocated to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to support the Hughes Act. For fiscal year 2025-2026, a total of $365,000 in Hughes Act funds was transferred to DCF to support alcohol and drug abuse education, treatment, and prevention programs.
